When positioning the shafts, it is important to ensure that they are installed as horizontally as possible. The shaft track should be exactly aligned to ensure a long service life of the gears. Lubrication also works best in the horizontal position. When installing, please ensure that the shafts are parallel in order to keep misalignments as low as possible. It is also important that the correct centre distance is maintained.
In mechanical engineering and toolmaking, a worm is a shaft with a one or more start screw flute. Together with the worm wheel (with helical toothing), the worm screw forms a worm drive. The axes of the worm screw and worm wheel are offset by 90°. Worm drives are suitable for translating large gear ratios into a slow speed.

The bevel gearbox with a die-cast zinc housing and steel bevel gears is highly suitable for electric motor drives. In practice, the gearbox is mainly used as an angular gearbox or as a distributor gearbox. This drive gearing is also used as attachment gearing on electric motors (e.g. for venetian blinds). All ready-to-install gearboxes from norelem are RoHs-compliant.
